Crossing Borders, Bridging Generations

Crossing Borders, Bridging Generations is an oral history project developed by the Brooklyn Historical Society. The CBBG site was already up and running when I was asked to install and integrate the OHMS (Oral History Metadata Synchronizer) viewer. The OHMS system allows for time-correlated keyword searching of the oral history transcripts.

I also developed new Drupal views, implemented interface updates and performed system maintenance.

Brooklyn Visual Heritage

Brooklyn Visual Heritage is a collaborative website featuring historic photos from the collections of the Brooklyn Historical Society, Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Public Library. Working with the project coordinators from each institution, I developed this Drupal powered website to showcase the photographs.

Metadata from the three institutions was imported using the feeds and feeds tamper modules. The images are hosted at each institution but cached on the website using the imagecache external module. This project was challenging due to the number of interests involved but ultimately developed into a valuable resource of historic images.
